Business Artificial Intelligence Minor (BAI)

Program Description

The Minor in Business Artificial Intelligence aims to equip students with the foundational knowledge and practical skills necessary to apply artificial intelligence (AI) in business contexts. The minor will cover the basics of AI, data analysis, machine learning, and their applications in solving business problems. This minor is designed for students who wish to enhance their expertise and career prospects by integrating AI into their skill set. The minor is available to business and non-business students.

Program Learning Objectives

Students enrolled in this minor will learn to:

  • Understand the fundamental concepts and techniques of AI and machine learning.
  • Apply AI and machine learning methods to analyze and solve business problems.
  • Utilize data analysis and visualization tools to interpret business data.
  • Evaluate the ethical implications of AI in business.
  • Develop and implement AI-driven business strategies and solutions.
  • Communicate AI concepts and findings effectively to a business audience.

Program Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the minor, students will be able to:

  • Graduates are able to comprehend and explain key concepts, algorithms, and techniques in AI and machine learning, demonstrating a foundational understanding of their role in business innovation and problem-solving.
  • Graduates are able to apply advanced AI and machine learning methodologies to analyze complex data-driven business challenges and develop strategic solutions informed by quantitative insights.
  • Graduates are able to interpret large-scale business data, utilize analytical and visualization tools, and create visual models to effectively communicate insights and support executive-level decision-making.
  • Graduates are able to evaluate the ethical, legal, and societal implications of AI technologies in business environments, applying a balanced and informed approach to ethical decision-making in technology adoption.
  • Develop and implement AI-driven business strategies and solutions.
  • Communicate AI concepts and findings effectively to a business audience.
