The Wright State University-Lake Campus was created in 1962 by the Western Ohio Educational Foundation (WOEF) and became a regional branch campus of Wright State University in June 1969. In 1972, the college moved to its present location on the north shore Grand Lake St. Marys between Celina and St. Marys, Ohio.
As the regional campus of Wright State University, the Lake Campus primarily serves the communities in west-central Ohio. The campus is located on 211 scenic acres and includes 3 academic buildings, townhouse-style apartments for students, and a YMCA. On-campus student housing gives students the opportunity to receive a high-quality education while experiencing an affordable tuition rate, small classes, and independent living.
Since 2009, the Lake Campus has experienced over $20 million in renovation and construction projects creating a modern and welcoming campus. The campus offers student amenities such as an open-concept library, dining hall, large Student Success Center, nursing simulation lab, natural wetland, and modern science labs.
The Workforce Development and Business Enterprise Center (WDBEC) at the campus provides talent development, continuing education, and small business development services. The center can provide professional development opportunities and resources relevant to business and individual needs.
Operating as a non-profit organization, the Western Ohio Educational Foundation in 1962 still stays true to their roots of supporting the Lake Campus. The WOEF is still active today providing nearly $200,000 in scholarships annually, supporting student life through various events, activities, and grants, as well as being the foundational support of campus housing.
The Lake Campus offers a variety of in-demand associate and bachelor’s degrees as well as general education courses. With an enrollment of approximately 1,200 students the campus has over 30 full-time professors and offers small class sizes and support services such as academic advising, counseling, and free tutoring.
