Program Description
The minor in Environmental Studies is designed for students who wish to build a critical foundation in understanding natural, human, and cultural factors of environmental systems and issues from a liberal arts perspective. Students take three core courses in environmental science, writing, and ethics, and then two electives from an approved list of Topics in Environmental Studies. A minor in Environmental Studies is ideal for students who want to explore more than one field or disciplinary approach to the study of the environment or enhance their degree with a concentration in environmental topics, issues, and skills.

Program Learning Objectives
Students enrolled in the Environmental Studies Minor will learn to:
- Demonstrate understanding of the multiple interconnections between environmental systems and natural, social, cultural, economic, philosophical, and historical factors.
- Identify and integrate global environmental concerns and contexts to local places and communities from diverse cultural and geographic perspectives.
- Communicate clearly and effectively about environmental issues and topics for multiple audiences and purposes
