Public Health Minor (PUBH-MINOR)


Program Description

Students from a wide variety of majors will find a Public Health minor attractive as it provides them with a basic understanding of each of the core areas of public health, introduces students to career opportunities and prepares students for admission to graduate programs in public health and other health-related programs. Students are able to select from a diverse offering of public health foundation courses, offered both online and in the classroom.

Admissions Requirements

Declared major and a  GPA of 2.0 or higher

Program Objectives

Students will:

  1. Communicate public health information, in both oral and written forms, and through a variety of media, to diverse audiences.
  2. Locate, use, evaluate and synthesize public health information.
  3. Analyze the range of biological, behavioral, environmental, and social factors that influence patterns in population health outcomes.

Graduates can:
