Course Description: Introduction to the 20th-century philosophical and literary movement. Emphasis on concrete existence and the passions over abstract rationality, conception of self as a product of radically free acts of self-creation, affirmation of uncertainty and absurdity as inescapable elements of the human condition, and rejection of traditional ethical systems.
