Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, BA

Program Description:

The Bachelor of Arts degree in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies is organized around the following areas of concentration: feminist activism, theory, and methods of inquiry; women and other marginalized peoples as subjects of study within multicultural and global contexts; and multiple fields of difference, experience, and identity related to gender and sexuality.

Admission:

For admission into the undergraduate program, students must have a 2.0 GPA with a letter grade of “C” in WGS 2000: Introduction to Women and Gender Studies (Wright State Core Area 5). To graduate with a degree in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, students must complete, along with university and college requirements, a total of 120 credit hours, 40 hours of which must be at the 3000-level or above, and maintain a grade of “C” or higher in all required and elective WGS courses taken for the major.

Element 2: Mathematics: 3 Hours


Element 3: Global and Cultural Studies: 6 Hours


Element 4: Arts/Humanities: 3 Hours


Element 5: Social Sciences: 6 Hours


Element 6: Natural Sciences: 8 Hours


Two Additional Core Courses: 6 Hours
