Program Description
The Program Evaluation (EVAL) Certificate Program will provide graduate students the skills and a working knowledge of theories, models and current demands regarding program evaluation in government, profit and non-profit organizations. Those who complete the prescribed coursework in this certificate program will have achieved advanced competencies in understanding, designing and implementing program evaluation plans.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the certificate, all EVAL students will:
- Have knowledge of history and theories related to program evaluation.
- Have knowledge of program evaluation standards.
- Demonstrate an understanding of relationship between logic models and program evaluation.
- Apply theoretical based analysis and thinking in developing and implementing program evaluation.
- Describe and use behavioral strategies to become a contributing member to the program evaluation profession.
- Knowledge of Quantitative/Qualitative/Action Research Design and Analysis.
- The ability to develop a program evaluation budget.
- The ability to write grants to secure external funding.
- Knowledge of effective communication and collaboration strategies for program evaluation.

Required Courses
(6 Credit Hours) Elective Courses
Choose Two (6 Credit Hours) or provide evidence of completing qualitative and quantitative research methods courses in the last 5 years.
