Transition to Work Endorsement

Program Description:

This endorsement is designed for a current intervention Specialist or Career Technical Education teacher who wishes to add skills and knowledge regarding career assessment and transition into workplace settings.

Students seeking an endorsement in Transition to Work must hold a current Intervention Specialist or Career Technical Education teaching certificate or license.  Students who do not have a current (expired) teaching credential must complete the renewal requirements for a license prior to the granting of the endorsement in Transition to Work

The holder of a standard Intervention Specialist teaching credential may add an endorsement in Transition to Work by completing the listed 10 semester hours.  The program is completely online and occurs from January to December of each year.  An application deadline of November 30th is strictly enforced.  Students who have a Career Technical Education license complete a series of courses in Intervention Specialist/Special Education.  Candidates should contact the program director for more information.

Wright State University’s Transition to Work Endorsement preparation program meets the Chancellor’s requirements for program approval and the State Board of Education’s minimum standards for graduate level programs leading to the Transition to Work Endorsement.  Approval was granted for Wright State University’s graduate level program leading to Transition To Work Endorsement until the fall 2021 review cycle.

Admission Deadlines:

The TTW Program reviews and admits new students once a year.  New students are eligible to begin the program the spring semester after approved admission.  The deadline to have all required application materials submitted is November 30th of each Year.

Admissions Requirements:

  • Current Ohio Intervention Specialist or Career Technical Education teaching license

AND

  • 2.5 Cumulative minimum GPA
