Unconventional War Undergraduate Microcredential

Program Description
The Unconventional War microcredential program immerses students in focused topics outside the normal realm of warfare. Terrorism and cyber warfare are defined as unconventional, and WMD are seen as unconventional weapons.
Admission Requirements
Adviser permission: students contact microcredential adviser directly, or contact the SoSSIS Chair or relevant course instructors, who would alert the adviser for followup discussions of the requirements of the microcredential. Students need a 2.0 gpa in order to be admitted.
Program Learning Objectives
Students enrolled in the Unconventional War microcredential program will:
- learn about unconventional forms of warfare, and what defines and distinguishes unconventional from conventional.
- be conversant in contemporary threats to national and international security
Program Learning Outcomes
As a result of their learning experience, graduates of this microcredential program can:
- apply what they have learned to policy thinking and advocacy in the fields of international security and homeland defense.
- write and analyze on matters of current unconventional threats.

Unconventional War Microcredential
The microcredential requires two of three courses related to unconventional warfare to be taken within a four-year timeframe in order to get credit. |
