Program Description
An undergraduate certificate in Environmental Studies can be completed by any student admitted to Wright State University who wishes to gain a professional credential for working on environmental issues in various occupations. The certificate provides students with a critical foundation in understanding natural, human, and cultural factors of environmental systems and issues from interdisciplinary perspectives. Students take two core courses in environmental science, two courses in environmental humanities, and two electives from an approved list of courses in environmental studies.

Program Objectives
Students enrolled in the Environmental Studies Certificate will learn to:
- Demonstrate understanding of the multiple interconnections between environmental systems and natural, social, cultural, economic, philosophical, and historical factors.
- Identify and integrate global environmental concerns and contexts to local places and communities from diverse cultural and geographic perspectives.
- Communicate clearly and effectively about environmental issues and topics for multiple audiences and purposes.
Program Outcomes
As a result of their learning experience, graduates of the Environmental Studies Certificate can:
