Program Description

This program provides intermediate training in the areas of Geographic Information Science. The intermediate GIS microcredential is two courses. Successful completion of the microcredential requires the student to earn a B or better in all courses that comprise this microcredential.

Admission Requirements

  • Currently admitted to Wright State University

Program Learning Objectives

Students will learn to:

  • Develop an understanding of the central theory and technical skills associated with geographic information science 

  • Learn how to generate, manage, and analyze spatial data and geographic knowledge 

  • Create maps and examine geographic representations of information

Program Learning Outcomes

Students successfully completing this course can:

  • Apply the analytical and technical skills associated with geographic information science

  • Critically examine spatial data and geographic information

  • Create high quality maps using the most recent technical platforms
