Program Description

The Associate of Applied Business in Graphic and Multimedia Design is a program that prepares students for employment after two years of study. Students will gain skills for collateral material for both print and digital media in branding, information design, promotional and advertising, publication, and web design. Students will use various software packages and design techniques to develop products for business, communications, marketing and other related areas. 

Students will develop a strong foundation in the field of graphic and visual communication building a base of knowledge of color, typography, illustration, page layout, image and video manipulation. Classes have hands-on experience with software including industry standards such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Animate, Premiere Pro, and HTML/CSS coding. Students completing the program will develop a portfolio of work to showcase design skills and software aptitude when applying for a position in the design field. 

Admission Requirements

Students must be admitted to Wright State University.

Program Learning Objectives

Students enrolled in the Associate of Applied Business in Graphic and Multimedia Design program will learn to: 

  1. Communicate effectively. 

  1. Concept and apply communication design skills to develop solutions for challenging situations within an organizational setting. 

  1. Understand the ethics of graphic and multimedia design. 

  1. Utilize current technology in the graphic design and digital media field.

Program Learning Outcomes

As a result of their learning experience, graduates of the Associate of Applied Business in Graphic and Multimedia Design program can: 

  1. Demonstrate effective graphic communication skills. 

  1. Apply graphic communication skills to communicate a concept in a business setting. 

  1. Demonstrate ethics and responsibility in the communication field. 

  1. Demonstrate proficiency using graphic design and digital media software.
