This plan outlines a four-year path to graduation. You are expected to satisfy all “success marker” courses, grades, and GPAs as specified. For part-time students and students needing to complete background material, this schedule represents the order in which courses should be taken. This suggested plan to four-year graduation does not replace regular advising appointments. Some course offerings may change.

Term One


Total: 17 Credit Hours


SUCCESS MARKER: Complete MTH 2300  with a C or better.

Total: 16 Credit Hours


SUCCESS MARKERS: See mathematics education advisor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics.

Complete MTH 2310, 2800, 3450, and 2530 with a C or better.

Maintain a GPA of 2.7 or better.

Apply for next semester’s ED 2650 field experience during first week of this semester.

Total: 14 Credit Hours


SUCCESS MARKERS: Apply for next semester’s ED 2750 field experience during first week of this semester. 

Total: 15-16 Credit Hours


SUCCESS MARKERS: Maintain a GPA of 2.7 or better.  Complete MTH 4400, MTH 4710, or MTH 4910 with a C or better.

Students seeking licensure should apply for admission to undergraduate licensure program in CHEH once completed or enrolled in MTH 2800 and one of MTH 3450 or STT 3420 or MTH 4460.

Take Ohio Assessment for Educators APK test after finishing ED 2700 and EDS 2900
 

Term Five


Total: 15 Credit Hours


SUCCESS MARKERS: Complete  MTH 4510 and MTH 4710, MTH 4400, or MTH 4910 with a C or better. 

Term Six


Total: 15-16 Credit Hours


SUCCESS MARKERS:  Complete MTH 4400, 4710, or 4910 with a C or better.

Maintain a GPA of 2.7 and math GPA of 2.0 or better.

Students seeking licensure must receive a passing score on the Ohio Assessment for Educators (OAE) Integrated Mathematics exam before applying for student teaching.

Term Seven


  • Licensure courses or General electives - see advisors Credits / Units: 10

  • General Elective Credits / Units: 2

  • Credit Hour(s): 3

Total: 15 Credit Hours


SUCCESS MARKERS: Maintain a GPA of 2.7 and math GPA of 2.0 or better.

Term Eight


Student teaching and seminar OR Department-approved math elective and General electives     12 Hours

Total: 12 Credit Hours


SUCCESS MARKER: Maintain a GPA of 2.7 and math GPA of 2.0 or better.
