Program Description

The Master of Science in Logistics and Supply Chain Management is designed for working professionals who cannot always take time from work to enhance their education. We offer a high-value program with a convenient blended education approach that can be completed in one year. Students spend four residencies throughout the year on campus. The remaining course work is completed using our proprietary e-learning modules prepared by experts in their fields. The modules are presented using a combination of synchronous and asynchronous course delivery modes.

Now more than ever, success in most businesses depends on the successful management of Supply Chain Operations. Consider what happens when supply chains fail to deliver and stock outs occur in retail stores. Research shows that retailers can lose nearly half of intended purchases when customers encounter stock outs.

The Master of Science in Logistics and Supply Chain Management program is designed to provide students with the graduate education that will enhance their leadership careers in the field of logistics and supply chain management.

The program aims to enable students to craft technology-rich supply chain architectures, instill rapid innovation into supply chain design, efficiently manage the supply base, align partners through trust and common values, and create the right metrics for supply chain networks.

Admissions Requirements

1. Applicants should have three years of work experience, preferably in the field of logistics, supply chain management, operations management, information technology, or a related field.

2. Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree and satisfy the minimum requirements to obtain graduate status.

3. Three professional references and a detailed resume are required.

Pre-approved Transfer Courses

American Council on Education (ACE) - College Credit Recommendations for Defense Acquisition University (DAU) Courses per WSU/DAU MOU.  Will consider DAU graduate level courses that have current ACE accreditation (will use ACE Military guide as the arbiter of potential eligibility for transfer credit) and support government acquisition, contracting or logistics.

Program Learning Objectives

Students enrolled in the MS in Logistics and Supply Chain Management program will learn to:

  • Develop and prove an understanding of globally integrated supply chain management theories and best practices.
  • Develop and prove understanding and use of tools, technologies, and process of collaboration decision-making for innovation and transformation in the globally integrated supply chain.
  • Develop and prove an understanding of the concepts of design, implementation, and operations of global value-added networks of connecting productive organizations.
  • Develop the capacity to perceive, analyze, and resolve ethical issues in globally integrated supply chains.
  • Realize the consequence of globally integrated supply chain issues in a comprehensive range of environment setting including manufacturing, services, and government.

Program Learning Outcomes

As a result of their learning experience, graduates of the MS in Logistics and Supply Chain Management program can:

  • Discover and apply globally integrated supply chain management theories (e.g. inventory management, optimization, lean, RBV).
  • Discover and apply globally integrated supply chain management best practices (e.g. sustainability, heuristics)
  • Develop and demonstrate understanding and use of tools, technologies, and processes of collaborative decision-making for collaborative innovation in the globally integrated supply chain.
  • Develop and demonstrate understanding and use of tools, technologies, and processes of collaborative decision-making for collaborative transformation in the globally integrated supply chain.
  • Discover and apply the concepts of design of global value-adding networks of connecting productive organizations.
  • Discover and apply the concepts of implementation of global value-adding networks of connecting productive organizations.
  • Discover and apply the concepts of operation of global value-adding networks of connecting productive organizations.
  • Develop and demonstrate understanding of appropriate professional standards for globally integrated supply chains.
  • Develop and demonstrate understanding of appropriate legal requirements in globally integrated supply chains.
  • Develop and demonstrate understanding of globally integrated supply chain issues in manufacturing environments.
  • Develop and demonstrate understanding of globally integrated supply chain issues in service environments.
  • Develop and demonstrate understanding of globally integrated supply chain issues in governmental environments.

Program Requirements:


The MS program is a 33-credit hour, cohort-based program. The program blends intensive weekends in-residence with three e-learning segments. The in-residence modules are scheduled between e-learning segments and include case studies, leadership lectures, breakout sessions, and simulation assignments. E-learning segments add learning activities such as interactive cases, pedagogical discussions, and proprietary teaching material built by global subject matter experts. E-learning segments can be either face-to-face or online delivery. Students should take 27 credit hours of core courses and 6 credit hours of concentration courses to satisfy their degree requirements.

Concentration: 6 Credit Hours

A. Practicum Concentration: 6 Credit Hours


Requires a total of 6 hours of practicum.

Interdisciplinary Business

B. Interdisciplinary Business Concentration: 6 Credit Hours


The Interdisciplinary Business Concentration is to be used in lieu of the 6 credit hours practicum for those students who elect to pursue a non-praticum degree. Students in this concentration should take 6 credit hours from the courses listed below.
