Dance (GPS)


This plan outlines a four-year path to graduation. You are expected to satisfy all “success marker” courses, grades, and GPAs as specified. For part-time students and students needing to complete background material, this schedule represents the order in which courses should be taken. This suggested plan to four-year graduation does not replace regular advising appointments. Some course offerings may change.

Term One


Total: 18 Credit Hours


SUCCESS MARKERS: Maintain GPA of 2.0 or better; omplete ENG 1100  with C or better

Term Two


Total: 18 Credit Hours


SUCCESS MARKERS: Maintain GPA of 2.0 or better

Term Three


Total: 15 Credit Hours


SUCCESS MARKERS: Maintain GPA of 2.0 or better; complete one MTH course

Term Four


Total: 18 Credit Hours


SUCCESS MARKERS: Maintain GPA of 2.0 or better; complete ENG 2100  with C or better

Term Five


Total: 16 Credit Hours


SUCCESS MARKERS: Maintain GPA of 2.0 or better

Term Six


Total: 14/15 Credit Hours


SUCCESS MARKERS: Maintain GPA of 2.0 or better; complete 20 upper-level credits

Term Seven


Total: 17/18 Credit Hours

Term Eight


Total: 17 Credit Hours

Program Description


The Dance Program’s four-year B.F.A. degree enables serious dance students to hone their skills and deepen their technical ability in order to become strong versatile dancers. With a faculty that is rich in professional experience, the program offers the opportunity to study and perform in all three major dance techniques of ballet, jazz, and modern. WSU’s dance program is integrated with our acting and musical theatre programs, giving our dance students unique opportunities to grow and explore multiple disciplines. Additionally, our exchange programs with the Dayton Ballet and Dayton Contemporary Dance Company offer exceptional dance majors further opportunities for training and performance.
