A minor in a foreign language greatly enhances a student’s career prospects. For the minor in Arabic, students are encouraged to participate in an Ambassador Program abroad to an Arabic-speaking country.

Students wishing to be admitted to the Arabic Minor must:

a. Have been admitted to a major subject
b. Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better or a 3.0 GPA in Arabic courses.

ARA 2010 - Intermediate Arabic I Credit Hour(s): 3
ARA 2020 - Intermediate Arabic II Credit Hour(s): 3
ARA 3210 - Advanced Arabic Syntax and Grammar I Credit Hour(s): 3

3000- and 4000-level courses: 9 Hours

Choose three (3) courses from the following 3-credit hour language courses:

ARA 3110 - Arabic Conversation I Credit Hour(s): 3
ARA 3120 - Levantine Arabic Credit Hour(s): 3
ARA 3220 - Advanced Arabic Syntax and Grammar II Credit Hour(s): 3
ARA 4210 - Introduction to Media Arabic Credit Hour(s): 3
ARA 4310 - Classical Arabic Texts Credit Hour(s): 3
ARA 4410 - Introduction to Arabic Fiction Credit Hour(s): 3
ARA 3000 or 4000 Elective
