EE 5000 - Solid State Materials for Electronics, Photonics and MEMS Credit Hour(s): 3 Focuses on the essential physical parameters of solids that make devices so important: elastic and thin-film properties (i.e. MEMS devices); electromechanical, piezoelectric and ferroelectric properties; paramagnetism and ferromagnetism; electron transport properties (metals and semiconductors); electronic bandgap and bandgap-engineering; and the essential role of crystallinity in enhancing desired parameters (i.e. dielectric function in ferroelectrics or electron mobility in semiconductors). Enrollment Restrictions: Must be enrolled in one of the following Levels: Graduate, Medical, Professional. Must be enrolled in one of the following Colleges: College of Egr & Computer Sci.
