Nonprofit Administration Minor

Program Description

The Nonprofit Administration minor empowers future professionals to positively impact the communities in which they work. Interdisciplinary classroom experiences and experiential learning opportunities provide students with the knowledge and skills for successful professional careers with nonprofit, social sector organizations. The nonprofit sector has more than 1.6 million organizations in the U.S that benefit from multiple disciplines from education and environmental science, to public health, communication and the arts, which makes the minor an ideal choice for students enrolled in a range of degrees and majors at Wright State. In addition to the minor, students have the option to pursue the national Certified Nonprofit Professional credential awarded through the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance.

Program Learning Outcomes

The minor will introduce students to professional knowledge and skills in nonprofit sector administration including governance, leadership, financial management, advocacy, marketing, public relations, fundraising, grant-writing, ethical decision-making, program development, volunteer and human resource management, and cultural competency.
