Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Undergraduate Certificate


Program Description and Admission Requirements

An undergraduate certificate in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies can be completed by any student admitted to Wright State University who wishes to gain a professional credential for working on women’s/gender issues in various occupations.

A minimum grade of “C” is required for each course counted toward the certificate. Electives must be at least 3000-level; see the approved course list for available options or confirm with the program coordinator.

Program Learning Objectives

All students in the certificate in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies will learn to:

  • discuss scholarship and activism related to women, gender, and sexuality in multicultural and global contexts
  • understand the history of U.S. women’s movements and theoretical foundations of feminism and sexuality studies in the academy
  • Understand the varieties of experience and identity related to gender and sexuality
  • apply the skills of critical thinking, and written and oral communication across disciplines that study gender and sexuality in the Liberal Arts

All graduates with a certificate in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies can:
