Public Health Minor


Program Description:

Public Health careers bring attention to the health concerns of populations through education, promotion of healthy lifestyles, and research. Public health professionals try to prevent problems from happening or re-occurring by implementing educational programs, developing policies, administering services, regulating health systems, and/or conducting research. Wright State’s College of Science and Mathematics Pre-Health Program offers a Minor in Public Health for those students interested in pursuing a career in this path or to pair with their Pre-Health degree.

Admissions Requirements:

Declared major and a  GPA of 2.0 or higher

Program Learning Outcomes:

Differentiate and define of structures and objectives of public health.  This includes the history, philosophy, and key acheivements of public health.  Explain the organization of the U.S. and key global public health systems.

A grade of C or better must be earned in each Wright State course used to satisfy these requirements.
