This plan outlines a three-year path to graduation. You are expected to satisfy all “success marker” courses, grades, and GPAs as specified. For part-time students and students needing to complete background material, this schedule represents the order in which courses should be taken. Wright State Core: Must complete One Global Inquiry (GI) course, Two Inclusive Excellence (IE) and One to Two Integrated Writing (IW) courses.


Admission Requirements to RSCOB: 2.5 cumulative GPA and 30 semester hours.

Must complete ACC 2010, ENG 1100, EC 1050 or MTH 2280, EC 2040, EC 2050, MKT 2500, and MS 2040 prior to taking 3000-level business courses. Must complete the previous courses, as well as ACC 2020, ENG 2100, FIN 2210 and MS 2050 prior to taking 4000-level business courses.

Program Description


Human Resource Management (HR) focuses on the people issues in organizations, and refers to all of the activities an organization implements and uses to affect the behaviors of employees. HR activities play a key role in supporting an organization’s ongoing efforts to adapt to change successfully, and HR professionals are sought by all sizes and types of organizations.

HR activities include recruitment, selection, training and development, compensation, benefits, performance appraisal, employee relations, health and safety, and strategic HR planning. The contributions of HR professionals make it possible for organizations to attract, motivate, and retain a qualified and effective work force.

By fulfilling the requirements established by the national Human Resource Certification Institute, HR practitioners can be certified as HR professionals. Certification requirements include education, experience, and a passing score on an exam that covers the major content areas of HR knowledge.
