Peer Health Educator Undergraduate Microcredential (PEER-MICROUG)

Program Description 

This microcredential prepares students for opportunities in peer health education. Students who complete this microcredential will develop a foundational understanding of the peer health educator role, knowledge of common health-related situations, communication techniques, and skills related to the implementation and evaluation of health promotion strategies.

Program Admission Requirements

This academic program does not have admission requirements beyond regular admission to Wright State University.  Any student is eligible to declare this academic program. 

Program Learning Objectives 

Students enrolled in this program will learn to: 

  • examine a variety of health topics to support their peers

  • create and deliver health promotion strategies as a peer educator

  • critique public speaking, listening, and communication skills among peers

Program Learning Outcomes 

As a result of their learning experience, graduates of the program can:

  • support peers in navigating their health needs in a variety of health topics

  • plan, implement, and evaluate an intervention as a peer educator

  • develop and evaluate public speaking, listening, and communication skills
