Program Description

Instructional Design and Learning Technologies (IDL)

You can prepare to become a highly trained instructional designer, armed with the tools you need to bring innovative teaching and training practices into education, corporate, and governmental settings while pursuing Wright State's fully online Master of Education degree in Instructional Design and Learning Technologies.

This unique online program lets you take dynamic courses and learn to design engaging learning experiences. Your coursework will cover the effective design and implementation of face-to-face, online, and blended learning classes, as well as the research, theory, and methodologies that underpin their design.

The entire program is taught online and can be completed in 5 semesters. All classes are designed using the latest research on effective online pedagogies, so you will learn about effective teaching practices and experience them firsthand as a student.

This program does not lead to an initial teaching license.

Gifted Intervention Specialist Concentration

This program will help prepare candidates to develop innovative teaching and training practices in K-12 settings, with a specific focus on gifted interventions. This program equips candidates with the skills to design learning environments that promote learners' growth and development. It also provides candidates with the skills to apply instructional strategies and learning technologies to improve learning. The Intervention Specialist Gifted Endorsement (ISG) courses will provide a theoretical background in the nature and needs of the gifted child, including affective/social needs, curriculum development, and differentiation for gifted students with educational needs. Candidates will engage in direct contact with gifted children and youth through field experiences. This unique, fully online master's degree allows you to participate in dynamic courses and learn to create engaging learning experiences while earning both your Gifted Intervention Specialist Endorsement and the Instructional Design and Learning Technologies Master's degree.

This program does not lead to an initial teaching license. Students must complete all five ISG courses before being eligible for the Gifted Intervention Specialist Endorsement.
