Comparative Religion Minor (CR)

Program Description

Because Religion is an integral part of human culture and society, this minor is a fitting complement to any Liberal Arts discipline. The Comparative Religion minor introduces students to the history and practices of the major world religions. Elective coursework is flexible, allowing students to choose to concentrate advanced study in their areas of interest. In addition to the Religion course offerings, students may opt to count LA 3200 Cultures and Societies or one upper-level Philosophy or Classics course (maximum credit hours: 3) toward the Comparative Religion minor. 

Admissions Requirements

This academic program does not have admission requirements beyond regular admission to Wright State University.  Any student is eligible to declare this academic program.

Program Requirements:


The Comparative Religion minor introduces students to the history and practices of the major world religions. Elective coursework is flexible, allowing students to choose to concentrate advanced study in their areas of interest. Students must take 12 credit hours (4 courses) for the minor. The hours will consist of at least 9 credit hours of REL courses, of which 6 of these hours must be upper-division (3000/4000) courses. For the additional three credit hours, students may opt to count LA 3200 Cultures and Societies or one upper-level Philosophy or Classics course toward the Comparative Religion minor. 

Complementary fields of Philosophy or Classics or LA 3200: 3 credit hours.
