Program Description
This is the undergraduate HR Certificate for those who wish to be introduced to the field of Human Resources (HR) or prepare for HR roles. The program provides introductory exposure to theory, research, and practice in the field of HR.
Admission Requirements
This academic program does not have admission requirements beyond regular admission to Wright State University. Any student is eligible to declare this academic program.
Program Learning Objectives
Students enrolled in the Human Resource Management Undergraduate Certificate Program will learn:
- The human resource (HR) function and the role it plays in an organization’s strategy
- The specific functional areas within HR (including job analysis, employment laws, recruitment, selection, training, compensation, benefits, performance management, employment and labor relations, workplace health and safety)
- Various techniques from each functional area to address organizational problems and issues
- Different employment laws and their application to different HR situations
Program Learning Outcomes
Students successfully completing this program will be able to:
- Describe the human resource (HR) function and its relationship with an organization’s strategy
- Describe and identify the specific functional areas within HR (including job analysis, employment laws, recruitment, selection, training, compensation, benefits, performance management, employment and labor relations, workplace health and safety)
- Apply knowledge and techniques from each functional area to address organizational problems and issues
- Identify different employment laws and apply them to different HR situations
