This Graduation Planning Strategy (GPS) outlines a sample four-year path to graduation and is valid for this catalog year only. This plan is a recommendation, and your actual program may vary. This suggested four-year graduation plan is not a substitute for regular academic advising appointments.
All undergraduate degree programs require at least 120 credit hours. To graduate in four years, students must earn an average of 15 credit hours per semester (fall and spring). The time it takes to complete a degree and the sequence in which courses are taken will depend on any credits transferred to WSU and placement in math and writing.
See the Academic Catalog for a complete listing of curriculum requirements, course prerequisites, and course descriptions. Course offerings and prerequisites are subject to change.

The B.F.A. Design/Technology Program prepares students for careers as designers, technicians, and stage managers in the professional theatre. Students approach their studies from three viewpoints: (1) general theatre knowledge with classes in acting, dramatic literature, theatre history and theory; (2) artistic design skills, with classes in design, drawing, theatre graphics, and decor and costume history; and (3) theatre technology, with classes in technical theory, application, and craft. During the junior and senior year students may choose to pursue a concentration in either design or technology. Design students progress through theoretical design projects to assistant design positions on faculty-designed productions and/or designing their own shows. Technology students progress through general crew positions to supervisory positions. Exceptional students may qualify for a professional theatre internship as a final senior project. Technology majors will prepare for careers as technical directors, carpenters, riggers, scenic artists, stitchers, cutters, drapers, and lighting and sound technicians. |
