Arts Management Certificate


Program Description

This certificate will provide a breadth of experience suitable for students interested in a career in arts management. Core coursework in marketing, nonprofit administration, fundraising, and business writing are augmented by a required arts internship and an elective course targeted to the student's interests.

Admission Requirements

To complete the arts management certificate program, candidates must have successfully completed a minimum of 15 credit hours in the fine arts or equivalent professional expertise, as approved by an adviser. Courses taken as part of the Wright State Core, for arts major requirements, or as part of the certificate program may count toward the admission requirement.

Learning Objectives

Arts Management students will:

  • demonstrate the communication and business skills necessary for arts management employment,
  • connect theory to practice in arts management through an internship,
  • be conversant about the fine and performing arts, and
  • demonstrate a basic understanding of business in the context of the arts.
