Program Description
The Wright State University-Lake Campus Police Academy is in compliance with the standards set by the State of Ohio and by the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission. Upon completion; cadets are qualified to take the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission Test. Successful completion allows the student to become a law enforcement officer in any jurisdiction in Ohio, and also earn credit in the Associate of Applied Science degree.
Program Admissions:
The admission requirements are the same as Wright State University-Lake Campus.
Learning Outcomes:
- Learning Outcome 1: Graduates will be able to communicate effectively using written and oral skills
- Learning Outcome 2: Graduates will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the fundamental skills of a law enforcement officer.
- Learning Outcome 3: Graduates will be able to identify and demonstrate problem-solving skills that will correlate to the issues they will be challenged by as a law-enforcement officers upon employment
