User Experience (UX) and Design Thinking Certificate

In this three course certificate program, you will learn:
- how to use latest skills and tools to create and evaluate user experience (UX);
- concepts related to UX, usability and design thinking;
- to apply the iterative process of user-centered design thinking;
- techniques related to low- and high fidelity prototype creation;
- user-interface (UI) prototyping tools such as Axure, MIT app inventor.
This certificate can be completed in one year (three semesters). Required courses in the certificate program are:
- IHE 6300 Fundamentals of Human Factors Engineering
- IHE 6320 Human-System Interaction and Design Thinking Principles
- IHE 7340 User Experience Design for Mobile Computing
Students who have completed ISE 4300 and/or ISE 4320 will be required to take one or both of the following courses to fulfill the certificate requirements:
- IHE 6830 Engineering Project Management and Applications
- IHE 7020 Systems Engineering and Analysis
Admission to this certificate program requires a completed bachelor's degree with a 2.7 or higher GPA. The certificate may be earned as part of a graduate degree program or as a stand alone certificate for a non-degree graduate student.
