Program Description
Consider this minor if you are working on a degree in one of the engineering or science areas. It will give you an overview of computer science you can use to enhance your work.
You will have a basic introduction to computer science and data structures. After that, you will explore operating systems, software engineering, and database management systems. To graduate with this minor you will need to have an average GPA of 2.0 for all minor courses.
Admission Requirements
Students must have a 2.5 GPA or higher.
Learning Outcomes:
- The minor in computer science is designed for students enrolled in an engineering, math or science related major, but open to all majors.
- The goal of the minor is to teach students to solve problems involving technology and computation by building skills in algorithmic reasoning and computer programming.
- These skills will complement and enhance any student’s major program of study and can be applied to any career field.
