Program Description:

The financial services major is the second major within the Department of Finance and Financial Services and is designed to meet the growing need for people who are knowledgeable in all areas of personal financial management, including investments, insurance, tax planning, retirement planning, real estate, estate planning, and personal financial planning.  Among the many career opportunities available to the graduate with a financial services major are financial planner, stockbroker, insurance agent, loan officer, and trust officer.  This program is registered with the Certified Financial Planning Board and as a result, students who complete the financial services major and the appropriate electives at Wright State University are eligible to sit for the Certified Financial Planner exam.

I. Wright State Core: 39 Hours

Graduation Planning Strategy


The Graduation Planning Strategy (GPS) has been created to illustrate one option to complete degree requirements within a particular time frame. Students are encouraged to meet with their academic advisor to adjust this plan based on credit already earned, individual needs or curricular changes that may not be reflected in this year’s catalog.
