Course Description: Explores the foundational texts and ideas that have shaped American political history from the colonial era to the present. Major themes include liberty and authority, federalism, capitalism, individual rights, democratic participation, and the contested meanings of equality and justice. Students will explore what it means to be an active citizen at the campus, community, state, and national levels.
