Course Description: Comparative evolutionary anatomy of the early vertebrate body plan and early embryophytes, including jawed fishes, early tetrapods, and the terrestrialization of Earth. Topics include molecular evolution, macroevolution and extinction (in the context of molecular genetics and development), modern phylogenetic techniques, the origin and diversification of major vertebrate groups, and connections between macroevolutionary trends and paleoenvironmental changes. Integrated Writing course.
