Interdisciplinary Programs

Interdisciplinary study gives students a chance to explore different areas or to tailor a major to their interests. Many courses-including African and African American Studies, Criminal Justice, Integrated Language Arts, Social Science Education, International Studies, and Women’s Studies-are offered jointly by cooperating departments. Students can also combine work in two different departments for a double, or dual, major. The Selected Studies major offered by the College of Liberal Arts allows students to pursue a self-designed course of study, culminating in a senior project, in an area where a major is not currently available.
