Gender, Race, and Economy Certificate


Program Description:

The Economics Department offers a Graduate Certificate in Gender, Race and Economy consisting of 12 credit hours (6 credit hours in selected economics graduate level classes and 6 credit hours in appropriate graduate level classes from any other discipline). The certificate enables graduate students from a wide variety of disciplinary backgrounds to develop a specialty in analyzing economic issues of Gender, Race and Economy.

Program Requirements:


To obtain the certificate a student must:

  • have a bachelor’s degree before beginning the certificate program
  • successfully complete 6 credit hours of graduate-level Economics courses listed below plus 6 credit hours of appropriate graduate-level non-Economics courses, including but not not limited to, the courses listed below
  • earn a cumulative average of 3.0 for the 12 credit hour program

Graduate Level Economics Courses: 6 Hours


Choose 2 additional appropriate courses from any department. For approval of acceptable courses, contact the chair of the Economics Department. Examples include the following courses:
