NUR 7622 - Supervision for Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Students II Credit Hour(s): 1 This course is the second in a sequence that focuses on the role of the psychiatric nurse practitioner as a counselor and the skills necessary to function effectively in that role, with emphasis on treatment modalities. Assertiveness, self-reflection, therapeutic communication, ethics, and professionalism are emphasized with increased focus on clinical reasoning. Advanced practice role development is incorporated. A case-study approach is utilized. Students meet with faculty in small groups. Prerequisite(s): Graduate level NUR 7621 Minimum Grade of C Corequisite(s): NUR7612 Enrollment Restrictions: Must be enrolled in one of the following Levels: Graduate, Medical, Professional. Must be enrolled in one of the following Colleges: College of Nursing & Health.
