PSI 8450 - Chemical Dependency

The purpose and main objective of this course is to enhance the skill set of pre-doctoral graduate students in the field of substance abuse and dependence. Historical underpinnings, models of recovery, treatment settings, assessment strategies, and prevention/treatment modalities will all be addressed in detail. Each participant will also have an opportunity to increase understanding of the major drugs of choice. Emphasis will be on culture, oppression and the needs of unique populations.
Restrictions: Must be enrolled in one of the following Levels: Professional.
