MUS 6820 - Jazz History and Music


Credit Hour(s): 3

Course Description: Study music and conduct critical analyses of representative works from major composers and performers in the Jazz idiom. The historical and social significance of Jazz throughout its development will also be emphasized. Department Managed Prerequisites: Undergraduate level MUS 2020 Minimum Grade of C and Undergraduate level MUS 2520 Minimum Grade of C. Successful completion of 4 semesters of undergraduate theory coursework or equivalent competency.

Enrollment Restrictions: Must be enrolled in one of the following levels: Graduate, Medical, Professional.
