EES 3240 - American Environmental History Credit Hour(s): 3
Course Description: This course explores the interactions between humans and the natural environment in America and how those interactions have changed over time. Emphasis is placed on how Americans have shaped the environment over the past four centuries, as well as how the environment has shaped human history in America. Topics include: the impact of industrialization on the environment; the growth of cities and suburbs; pollution, consumption, and energy use and policy; and changing ideas about the environment. Integrated Writing course.
Prerequisite(s): Undergraduate level EES 1070 Minimum Grade of D or Undergraduate level EES 2600 Minimum Grade of D
