LAT 5530 - Readings in Roman Epic Variable Title

Course Description: Virgil’s Aeneid, Ovid’s Metamorphoses; Lucan, Statius, Valerius Flaccus, and Stillus. Topics include intent and structure of the Aeneid, history and development of the Roman Epic, structure and transitional devices in the Metamorphoses, and the nature of rhetorical epic. Titles vary.
