Course Description: Covers history of Musical Theatre from its roots in early lyric theatre and popular variety entertainments to the birth of the modern Book Musical. Reading, viewing and discussion of significant examples from major periods while studying historical, artistic and socials contexts for these works. Integrated Writing course.
