PHL 5310 - Modern Political Philosophy Credit Hour(s): 3
Course Description: Introduction to classic texts and thinkers in political philosophy from the 16th century to the present. Topics include the foundations of society, theories of justice and rights, the concept of property, and the defense and critique of liberalism, democracy, socialism, and libertarianism. Readings may include Machiavelli, Hobbes, Locke, Hume, Rousseau, Smith, Mill, Marx, Nozick, Rawls, and Nussbaum.
Enrollment Restrictions: Must be enrolled in one of the following levels: Graduate, Medical, Professional.
