ME 7300 - Advanced Fluid Dynamics Credit Hour(s): 3
Course Description: This is an advanced course for the study of fluid dynamics for mechanical engineering graduate students. This course emphasizes the viscous effect in flows. The lectures introduce new topics and also discuss some of the topics briefly introduced in the prerequisite for this course, but from a more classical and theoretical perspective. The topics to be covered are as follows: mathematical preliminaries, vorticity dynamics, fluid kinematics, asymptotic analysis methods, conservation laws, boundary layer theory, Navier-Stokes equations and basic Newtonian flow solutions, unsteady flows, and turbulence. Department Managed Prerequisite(s): Undergraduate level ME 3350 Minimum Grade of C or Graduate level ME 5350 Minimum Grade of C
Enrollment Restrictions: Must be enrolled in one of the following levels: Graduate, Medical, Professional. Must be enrolled in one of the following colleges: College of Egr & Computer Sci.
