Course Description: This advanced level course will expand knowledge of basic microbiology by focusing on human-microbial pathogen interactions. Learn about organisms that cause disease in humans, from viruses to worms, while exploring the biological basis of infection, disease, host-pathogen interactions, disease control, and epidemiology. Investigate infections and their pathological consequences in the context of major body systems. Study the conflicts that exists between microbial pathogens and the innate and adaptive immune defenses of host organism.
Prerequisite(s): Undergraduate level BIO 2200 Minimum Grade of C or Undergraduate level BIO 3100 Minimum Grade of C or Undergraduate level BIO 3120 Minimum Grade of C
