Course Description: Virgil’s Aeneid, Ovid’s Metamorphoses; Lucan, Statius, Valerius Flaccus, and Silius. Topics include intent and structure of the Aeneid, history and development of Roman epic, structure and transitional devices in the Metamorphoses, and the nature of rhetorical epic.

Prerequisite(s): Undergraduate level LAT 2010 Minimum Grade of D
